Philosophy/Psychology

Anybody here a big  philosophy or psychology reader? I got into Nietzsche by accident when I bought The Will to Power for my father's birthday but I ended up reading the fucking thing, since then I've read most of Nietzsche's works and I'm almost finished with Thus Spoke Zarathustra. I never thought the English language could be that breathtaking (haha!).  I can't imagine how it reads in German.  Through Nietzsche I learned of Voltaire, and read his Candide.  I noticed Bill talks a lot about psychology.  He mentions Jung and Freud. I read in an issue of the Grimoire that Bill recommended something like "The Effect of Jokes on the Psyche" for an insight into his humor.  I was looking into getting a Freud book anyway because I had heard he was influeced by Nietzsche.  Any recomendations for good philosophy or psyhcology?

Re: Philosophy/Psychology
I tried to read Niet. a long time ago and was unable to get through it.  Maybe it was the particular translation.  In philosophy class I was told that his sister fucked around with is works, and that he had some sort of illness that left him nautious a lot of the time. I have never tried to verify that information, mainly because I don't care, lol.  Maybe I can better understand Niet. these days but I don't have the time to explore his works.

The Freud book is "Jokes and Their Relation to the Unconcscious."  I wouldn't recommend that as a first book.  Get his general introduction to pyschology.  As for Jung, although he didn't write it, get the book "Man and His Symbols" - usually stocked by other Jung books.  Actually, read that before you read Freud - it's a very enjoyable read.

After interviewing Alain from Primordial I tried to read Sarte's "Nausea" but I couldn't get through it.  There are certain periods in which it is very hard for me to get into reading certain writing styles - it has to do with mental fatigue.  Sometimes there is just too much going on.

I don't remember any good philosophy books offhand because it's been a while since I delved into that field.  I remember that the head of the philosophy department at my college tried to get me to major in philosophy and to forget psychology.  It was around that time when I saw a cartoon - in the cartoon a janitor accosted a student in a hallway and asked, "Oh, are you a philosophy major too?"  It implied that there were no jobs for philosophy majors.

Most people are under the impression that there is only one kind of philosophy, and for that matter, they think there is only one kind of psychology. It's not the case at all.  Unfortunately my college was full of really mundane professors who preferred research and who took a dull, behaviorist or cognitive approach, scoffing at abstract psychoanalytical concepts.  It was very irritating.  I wish I had known that before enrolling there.  But then, you don't really learn anything as an undergraduate ( I mean, you don't really learn your field).  So if you ever meet one of the cliche assholes who says, "Don't play games with me.  I'm a psychology major" please punch him dead in the mouth.

Which, among these non-metal expressions, is the most gay? (No metalhead should EVER say any of these under any circumstance - do not even read them aloud!)
