Satanism
I was reading a semi old  interview with the band Merrimack the other day.  Perversifier, mentioned he wanted to make a magazine wherein he would interview people in the Black Metal scene and ask them about their individual view of Satanism. That got me thinking about all the different Satanists there are.  The French Black Metalers in particular tend to gravitate towards the idea that Satan represents all the evil and chaos in the world. They don't believe in a guy with a pitchfork but rather a dark force in the universe that manifests itself in attrocities. They glorify things like rapist priests, terrorism, war, etc. My favorite quote from the interview was spoken by Terrorist..."I just want to say that, as an occidental individual, I would have found more elegance in an intergrist Catholic revival. But if His soldiers absolutely have to be sand-niggers, well it's ok. Lets enjoy all guns, no matter the faces they're pointing at." HAHA  I like that, even though it's probably just an act. Then there's that Dean Adams guy (of the Diabolical Skinheads?) I think he had a similar idea of Satanism,( where there exists a dark force in the universe that can be harnessed through certain rituals?) He really believed this, it was no act, as evidenced by his current incarceration.  Very different from the La Veyan satanists who only think of satan as a word describing free will and inner strength. Then theres the Satanists who believe in a literal being named Lucifer. Oh, and what about the Dissection guy? Didn't he have some kind of weird belief about the ultimate destruction of the universe or something? haha Him and Craft  along with a whole other scene of  Black Metalers did, I think.  Anyway, I just thought Perversifier had a good idea about talking to others about their different views. What do you people think of Satanism and its different sects? Personally I don't believe in anything but I think it interesting to think about. Also feel free to brutally correct me if I fucked up any of the crap I was talking about. I'd like to learn more about Dean Adams especially.  I read some of his articles and an interview in The Grimoire....

Re: Satanism
When I first read the Satanic Bible in high school I thought it was VERY interesting.  I had been very skeptical about christianity - at that time I had logic to feul me - the true origins of christianity became known later.  The Satanic Bible and related LaVeyan texts said things that I already said internally, like "you preach poverty but your buildings are lined in gold" or something like that.  I also wondered how christians could reconcile their cruel history with the lobotomized behavior of the followers in churches.

Some of the Laveyan concepts were amplifiers of my thoughts back then, like not letting anyone get away with the slightest injury.  But someone presented me with a book called "Might is Right" or something like that and told me that the Satanic Bible was ripped off from that book.  I tried reading a few pages but it seemed like babble and I put it fown for later reading, but I have never read it.

I managed to see some of the Satanic Rituals on a video tape and I remember thinking how gay everyone was.  Maybe if you are performing the ritual you might feel cool, but it sure doesn't look cool.  (I can say the same thing about me having sex.  I feel awesome, but I probably look stupid).

As silly as the rituals looked, I still enjoyed some of the written material.

You should read MAN AND HIS SYMBOLS which is usually resting amid CARL JUNG books in the PSYCHOLOGY section.  You will learn about archetypes and about how every culture has a sort of "evil spirit" idea.  That's not to say that an evil spirit exists - it's to show that it's part of our brain wiring to be able to imagine that kind of thing.  But if there is an afterlife, it's not possible for evil to exist.  Sickness is something that can only happen to an organism, not a "spirit."  There is no competition, so those kinds of battles cannot occur.  There is no territory to be fought over.  There are no possessions.  Freed from physical needs and mental defects, how could any being in such a state be evil?

Satanic themes in music... doesn't seem genuine unless it's purely for mental-theatre. The imagery is cool and the lyrics are entertaining. But any kind of claim to be this or that creed just seems too suspicious.

Re: Satanism
I personally haven't read much up on Satanism. From what I have personally gathered though, it's hard to deem it a religion. It's too unorganized. The Satan in the Bible seems alot different than the common conception of Satan and every Satanist interview I hear seems to think something different. I could be off the mark, but overall I think the concept of Satanism is plain silly. If you believe in and worship Satan- the antagonist of the Bible, then you're really a Christian. You have Catholics, you have protestants, you have greek orthodox qand you have satanists. Whatever.

I find religion very intriguing, but I wouldn't want to believe in any of it.

Re: Satanism
King Dylan, Satanism isn't the worship of any being.  They use a symbol called "Satan" because its's the spirit of rebellion.  Vincent Crowley, a high priest in LaVeyan Satanism, said it was "the religion of unreligion."  The black metallers, on the other hand, seem to actually worship the Satan of the christian myth, which to me (and you, as you wrote) seems silly.  If you are an anti-christian, you should abjure the entire faith, not worship one of it's mythical characters.  To me (and it seems like you agree as well) all religions are silly and it's quite primitive to belong to one.  Even LaVEyan Satanism, which does not believe in demons (which is contrary to the stereotype), it's still a membership, and I view groups as equally silly.  But not every person is strong enough to be an individual.  It's safer to belong to a group, and it's also built into our brain wiring to seek out belongingness because we are social animals.

There is a brilliant scholar named Dr. Barbara Thiering.  She has been interpreting and studying the Dead Sea Scrolls.  The old scribes used a symbolic language called "Pesher" which was used to write stories that had two meanings.  The surface meaning was harmless and perhaps seemed vague or very general, but the real meaning was quite specific if you knew the language.  If merauding Romans read anything subversive the texts would have been destroyed (as would the writers).  Among the discoveries was the interesting code word "Satan."  It was a code word for "zealot."  When "Satan" was tempting Jesus, it was really the zealot leader Judas who was trying to make a deal with Jesus.  Jesus had a Davidic bloodline, and there was controversy over his royal status because he had been born during a trial marriage.  Mary had sex before she was really allowed to by Essene law, so it's rather funny how the corruption of Paul and later christian writers make premarital sex into a sin.  St. Augustine, based on his writings, appears like a sexless purist, but in his earlier life he was a rapist and pervert.  In Freiduina terms, he experienced a "reaction formation" - his outward behavior was the opposite of what his mental energies.  That is why you should stay far far away from people who profess selflessness or who appear altruistic.

Re: Satanism
I think the whole Church of Satan thing is really fucking retarded.  The way they sell gay fucking membership cards on the internet for a hundred dollars and shit like that.  Isn't that gay money grubbing kind of bullshit the same kind of thing that turned us away from christianity in the first place?  I think we've probably all seen video footage of those rituals they do and wow....that shit is like the dumbest thing I've ever seen.  Play acting out rituals for the camera just so people will say things like "oh my dear god honey, did you see those terrifying satanists on the television?"  The satanic bible is really just a bunch of borrowed ideas, and while I too thought it was really fucking cool when I was in junior high when I got older and read Neitzche, and to a greater extent Crowley I saw that basically what he was doing was just paraphrasing the works of other authors.  I have a hard time seeing how grown men and women can have any respect for LaVey at all,  other than respect for his skill as a salesman.

Yeah, that church of satan bullshit is a bunch of crap. I read the satanic bible and few other pieces on satanism and came around to the fact that it was just a scam to control people instead of freeing them-as the church of satan and lavey claim. The acceptance of satan just exaserbates the pro-chritian dickfaces argument for god and all that other bullshit. Any and all forms of religion from fucking christianity to islam to buhddist and anything in between is fucking full of shit and all made up of lies.

Which, among these non-metal expressions, is the most gay? (No metalhead should EVER say any of these under any circumstance - do not even read them aloud!)
