Recent Death and grind albums you bought
What are some good recently released death and grind albums you've bought?  I've mostly been buying either old reissues (Suffocation, Deranged, Carcass)  or stuff from bands that don't exist anymore, (Houwitser, Iniquity, Immortal Suffering).  The newest albums I got that were any good: Birdflesh-Mongo Musicale, Cannibal Corpse- kill and Kaamos-Lucifer Rising.  Also I'm looking forward to Insatanity's cds going back into print.

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought
haven't been able to buy CDs in a while, due to having to pay for shit (like TAXES! Goddamet)

My most recent purchases haven't been all that new. I did get the new Ex Dementia debut, Thou Shall Repulse. I recommend it if you haven't heard it. They're good, and from Egg Harbor, New Jersey. They have a cool old school sound in the vein of maybe Autopsy. Also purchased Cardiac Arrest- Morgue Mutilations. Again, I recommend these guys. Aside from those albums, most of my purchases have been older stuff, like the Impetigo reissues, Impaled's back catalog, etc.

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought
This is another great idea for a thread, Mr Jewsef.  Don't be dismayed by the small amount of responses - the site was offline for about 3 weeks, and prior to that I had been too busy to add stuff to the old, no-frills version of the site, so it's going to take a while to reclaim the 30,000+ visitors a month.

Anyway, I have also been buying old albums.  I sat on my DAWN OF POSSESSION (IMMOLATION) CD, and Ross was kind enough to burn me a copy.  I saw it auctioned on Ebay and I sent some Polak $20 and he ripped me off (because he's a Polak).  Fuck Ebay up the ass.  Recently I saw the album, From a Polish company that re-released it, and bought 2 copies, lol.  The sound is a bit better, possibly due to the higher native volume on the re-release.

I'm also a big fan of Iniquity's "Seranadium" album, which I originally bought on DIE HARD, but I have heard that MIGHTY MUSIC in Denmark re-released it, so I have to keep an eyeball out for that one.

And of course I ran out and bought all of the Trouble Remasters.  Seriously, you MUST get the PSALM 9 remaster!  They did an amazing job on that.  The older version has a bit too much reverb and the drums are a bit weak in the mix, but the new version kicked my ass all over the place.  Make some coffee, put on the headphones, and enjoy the superb job they did (that is, if you like Trouble).  Sometimes a remaster doesn't sound much different, but this one is NOTICEABLY different.

And for the couch-potato metalhead, you passed up the chance to get TROUBLE demos on CD.  I walked into BB KING's when they played and took a look at teh merchandise area.  I had just finished telling my friend that Erik Wagner had told me that there never were any Trouble demos.  Well, at the merch area I saw TWO Cd's (not CDR's) produced by the band, that contained demos and rarities.  Among the cool songs on there was the song from METAL MASSACRE 4 - "THE LAST JUDGEMENT" - that's the song that got me into the band.  I guess you can say, it got me into TROUBLE.

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought
I can't afford to buy CDs anymore so I just burn them from my friends or download them. The only CD I did buy was Vaginal Jesus: Affirmative Apartheid and I bought that a year or two ago. Most of the death and grind albums are really gay and I don't want to spend money on something thats sounds like fags screaming about their broken, painted nails

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought
A good place to get cds cheap is www.razorbackrecords.com Nothing there is over $10 (alot are $5 now) and the shipping is free. Not queer media mail either, but first class.  Also its not just carcass clones, I got Mortal Decay and Houwitser cds there and they have a lot of oldschool thrash too.

Funny you mention Razorback, I just ordered the new Blood Freak this morning. They have a good distro, but I'm not fond of their selection. Go to Sevared Records' site for a great distro.

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought
I've been getting tons of vinyl lately.

Sadistik Exekution - Fukk II LP - This is my favorite Sadistik and now that I have it on vinyl I cant hear it again for the first time.

Napalm Death  - Scum Picture LP - Buying into the gay earache records reissue bullshit....but it's a picture disc and therefore it has a swell picture on the records playing surface.

Abscess - Damned and mummified LP - These old bastards are fucking crazy....they still put out super great records and  this is definitely one of their best.  It reminds me the most of the Autopsy record shitfun...even more so than all the other abcess records.

Nunslaughter & Cianide  - split - This is great stuff from two great bands.  Nunslaughter has never dissapointed, their entire discography is great.

Coffins & Ostenek - split 10 inch - Really great shit from both bands on here.  Coffins continue the  legacy of having tiny wimpy little gooks delivering some really fucking heavy music.  I hadn't heard Ostenek but their side of the split kicks fucking ass.  The whole side is one song and its some really fucking crazy extreme doom shit that kind of reminds me of khanate.....but only kind of.  I really love the cover art on this record.

Goatlord - Goatlord LP - This is a fucking great albumn.

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought
For crazy grind, I have a few recommendations.

CENOTAPH (from Turkey) - PUKED GENTIAL PURULENCEY:  Excellent production, crazy music, and brutal.
INTERVALLE BIZARRE - the split CD with MALIGNANCY:  You can probably buy this from Malignancy and I am pretty sure that Primitve Brutality stocks it.  Although it's only 4 songs, they are extremely good.  Some people complain that it's too technical, but I like prefer the technical grind to the simplistic grind.

For brutal death metal:
FLESHGRIND - DESTINED FOR DEFILEMENT: Excellent vocals.  Super godly.
SEANCE - FOREVER LAID TO REST - Brutal vocals and unique and complex death metal music.

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought

Shortly after my  last post, Drawn & Quartered - Merciless Hammer of Lucifer arrived in the mail. It delivered what it promised. Which was lot's of weird guitar harmonies, interesting lyrics (no boring thesaurus gore shit) and good production. Even the three music videos on the enhanced cd were worth watching.(I hate music videos, especially metal ones.) I particullarly liked the weird cartoon video for the song Orgiastic Feast of Excrimental Blasphemy. The bonus disc with the 7" songs and the Crusaders of Blasphemy demos was cool too. The only other album I own of D&Q is Return of the Black Death and Merciless certainly lives up to that.

By the way Dead, how do you like the new King Diamond? I downloaded the free song off their site and decided to hold off buying it.  It didn't suck balls or anything, but I  still don't have all their old albums yet, and I didn't think it sounded special enough to stop me from getting them in order.

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought
This is the first King album that, in my opinion, has a pants load of filler. The album isn't bad, but it will definately not be remembered as King's finest moment. Overall, the music is a bit more stripped, more proficient in certain aspects (mainly guitars) and King continues to lessen his use of falsetto. I enjoy the album, I guess, but I'd take the classics like Conspiracy or Them over this one anyday. Not that I don't want King's new album to succeed, but I would recomend getting some of the classics that you don't have first.

I also just bought Decapitated- Winds of Creation. I know Bill doesn't like Decapitated as they're a bunch of Polaks an I guess he doesn't like the music, but I really dig these guys, and after seeing them live tonight, I'm sold. They were way better than Necrophagist, who are a bit boring and attract prog/power-heads. If I see one more Blind Guardian t-shirt, I'm going to scream.

King Dylan, you speak true words.

I was excited about the new King album, and I listened, I thought to myself, "Maybe the next song will be good."  The album went in one ear and out the other.  I really don't know what happened, but I am in utter disbelief.

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought
I bought The Sound Of Perseverance by Death not too long ago. Now, until then the only album I ever owned by Death was Human, so I was definitely surprised by the difference in vocals/production,etc. It took a lot of listens to appreciate it. The last death metal album I bought that smacked my dick in the dirt was by The Deviant called Ravenous Deathworship. To me, they sound like Morbid Angel and Dissection with Immortal's vocals. If you can get past the vocal style, it smokes. It has been out for a year on Candlelight and no, I don't work for them. I just think they kick ass.

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought
I had always meant to buy a fresh copy of Death's "Spiritual Healing" and now I found out that it's out of print.  It will hopefully come out again.  It's my favorite death album.

Re: Recent Death and grind albums you bought
I scored a copy of Spiritual Healing on eBay for 10 bucks or so. I think that's Death's last truly great album. Personally I find Scream Bloody Gore their best, because anything Chris Reifert touches is orgasmic. It's a shame Death went so far downhill. I just can't stand most of that over technical crap.

Which, among these non-metal expressions, is the most gay? (No metalhead should EVER say any of these under any circumstance - do not even read them aloud!)
