The Professor Dum Dum movie
I'm thinking about writing a movie in which Professor Dum Dum is the main character. Actually, the movie may just simply be called "Professor Dum Dum."

Right now I am just jotting notes - I don't really have a storyline yet.  There is a chance that I can make the reality in the movie as absurd as some of the topics on the radio show.  I also like the idea of actually creating a Professor Dum Dum mask/prosthetic.  I might even have Roger design and sculpt a Professor Dum Dum action figure.

Any interest in this story idea?

That's a great idea, but Professor Dum Dum is great on the radio for his quick wit , so I just think improv wouldn't hurt.

Re: The Professor Dum Dum movie
King Dylan - you sort of gave me an idea.  I can actually have a large part of the movie as a reality show kind of thing.  Well, let's say the Professor is curious about religion - I can get a priest to consent to an interview.  (I will probably have to get a lot of proests and just choose the best reactions).  The priest won't know until the last minute that Professor Dum Dum is going to be the interviewer (I will be wearing a prosthetic - maybe a mad scientist sort of mask).  The more I think about it, the more I like this idea.

In case anyone is interested, I have been jotting notes, and this will definitely be a movie.  It will probably be shot in the beginning of 2008, if I live that long.

Re: The Professor Dum Dum movieHAHA
I think a professor dumb dumb movie could be really cool.  In my oppinion the character is a bit tedious on the radio...I think being able to see professor dumb dumb would push him from tedium with frequent but all too fleeting funny moments to funny with fleeting tedious moments.  I don't think I'm alone on this (at least in circles that arent this forum) but when I'm listening to professor dumb dumbs lab I find myself wishing that it was just plain old Bill Zebub and not professor dumb dumb.  I'm not saying I don't like the show, I just find the character to be more annoying than funny.  I always took this to be the intended effect but when your listening to a radio personality it can get a bit tiresome.  Now watching professor dumb dumb instead of just listening to him is an interesting thought, especially considering that you've delivered comedy gold time and time again with your performances in your movies.  Just a thought.

Re: The Professor Dum Dum movieHAHA
millertyme- I'm not trying to negate your opinion, but here is my stance on Professor Dum Dum/ radio characters.

In order for a talk radio show to be entertaining- for me at least- the DJ has to eithner be really fucked up or a character. It's not all htat fun just having some mundane voice announcing songs and talking about stuff. The Professor Dum Dum voice is extremely funny, and Bill uses it extremely well because what I've noticed what I loved about that show was the incredibly fast wit that Professor/Bill has.

Re: The Professor Dum Dum movieHAHA
I know a few people who will only listen to me on the radio if I am Bill Zebub, not Professor Dum Dum.  That character isn't for everbody. It's a cult thing.  The people who like it, REALLY like it.  What I am trying to do is to find out what it is that people like about Dum Dum.  King Dylan likes the fast wit, and I can have hidden-camera moments that aren't scripted.  Others like tha voice, especially when it gets really over the top.  And of course, there are people who like the absurdity.  I just don't knwo hwo to visually present that character yet.  The magic was purely sonic.  Now I have to make it visual as well.  I had enjoyed listening to the Jerky Boys a while ago, but when their movie was released it ruined everything for me.  I'm afraid of that happening with the Dum Dum movie.  But I have written some material already and I stand behind it - if people who already know the Dum Dum character don't like the visuals, the movie may ruin their ideas about Dum Dum, but the majority of viewers will have never heard of my radio show so they will get their first taste in this movie form, and hopefully that will be a good experience for them.

Damn it, I'm going to have to miss all 3 hours of Dum Dum goodness. Fucking job. Play some of King of the Grey Island, that album is "the win".

Which, among these non-metal expressions, is the most gay? (No metalhead should EVER say any of these under any circumstance - do not even read them aloud!)
